"Bangkok Focus" Night

Well, if you missed our reporting evening on Wednesday the 9th of March, you missed a great night! We gave a day-by-day account of what happened on mission, accompanied by photos; we showed a video of Sofia giving her testimony; we had a "sample Sampat Chiwit Church service", led by Kelly; and we had a Q&A session with some very intelligent questions being raised.

The big news is, applications are now open for those who are interested in coming to Bangkok on the next trip! Info brochures outlining what would be involved will be available on the missions table at church as of Sunday the 20th of March, and you can see me or Steve for application forms.

There will also be response slips for people interested in supporting the team in the following ways:-

  • Prayer support
  • Contributing financially
  • Helping organise fundraising events
  • Hosting a meeting

We're also looking for people to support the team in a few key roles. Andrew Croot has volunteered to be our Treasurer (thanks Andrew!), but we would also like people to help out in the following roles:-
  • Communications Officer - to make sure updates are communicated to the rest of the church
  • Fundraising Coordinator - to take charge of organising our 3 main fundraising events, with the help of other volunteers
  • Travel Organiser - to book flights for the team, and accommodation for debriefing
As an incentive to get people involved in various ways this year, we've created "Bangkok Mission Supporter's Passports"! For each supporting event you attend, or other way in which you support the team, you'll get a stamp. Collect 5 or more stamps, and we'll bring you a present from Bangkok! Passports will also be available from the missions table, and I'm in possession of the stamp - so see me if you need a stamp in your passport.
